We all have wondered, at some point, how short life really is and 'Divergent' (2014) certainly has the ability to takes us to that point once again. Why? Because 'Divergent' is nothing more than a repetition, more of the same. The similarities between this movie and 'The Hunger Games' series are so flagrant, right from the first seconds of film, you really feel you could be doing something else with your precious time (like watering plants or cooking lasagna), instead of watching the same movie all over again. Boring and predictable is what you will get.

It seems obvious that 'Divergent' tries to feed off the success achieved by 'The Hunger Games'. Like its predecessor, it's an adaptation from a book set in a dystopian future where a young female character (played by Shailene Woodley) fights the system in a rather violent scenery.

I have read a couple of articles claiming how this last movie is so much better that the Katniss Everdeen adventures. Some of the arguments claim "the characters actually have fun" or the story is told from a "more engaging" and personal point of view. Don't get me wrong, but who really cares? This is just another teen tale with just one single purpose: to make the same amount of money that 'The Hunger Games' is clearly making. Listen, that's a great goal to have, but don't waste my precious time. Been there, done that.
